Reported issues with the Mini Maxx V2 and their solutions. Find your truck and year below. We only service our own Mini Maxx tuners.

All vehicles

The Mini Maxx V2 does not support the factory pyrometer or EGT probes. Be sure to unplug all of them. If you need EGT readings you can add a docking station to the Mini Maxx.

RAM Cummins

2013 to 2021, boost dropping to 20 PSI. We have a beta file that fixes this temporarily, for three to five hundred miles, on 2013 to 2018 model years in the latest update. We are still working on the 2019 to 2021 fix.

2018 and newer, code P040D. This does not affect drivability or the integrity of the tune, and there is no software fix. The immediate fix is to keep the EGR temperature sensor plugged in.

2014 to 2015, loping or surging. Update to version 2.0.0.4 or above. If it remains after updating, unplug all EGT sensors.

2018 and newer, part number not currently supported. The tuner only supports original PCM software with a part number starting with a number. If your PCM part number starts with a letter it may not work. Try the latest update first, then contact us or return it to your retailer.

Ford Powerstroke

2011 and newer, P24C6 or P24DA codes. Tuners with older software may throw these. It does not mean you did anything wrong; there was an issue with previous calibrations and specific PCMs. Fixed as of October 2023, so update your device.

2011 to 2019, power modes will not change. Certain PCM software does not get along with our shift on the fly strategy. This is rare and affects roughly seven percent of 2011 to 2019 Fords.

2016, code P04E3. The 2016 model year does not contain a PCV sensor that the V2 looks for, causing a check engine light. A fix file is available: extract it and copy the MGGDT.IT1 file into the FORD folder on the SD card, then update the firmware and reinstall the tune. Only use this file if your truck has the code.

2017 to 2019, boost dropping off. Our tunes do not support the factory EGT sensor. On 2017 and newer this causes boost drop-off and a no-power feeling. Unplug the EGT sensor and clear the codes.

GM Duramax

2011 and newer LML, including pickups. The Mini Maxx does not support dual fuel tanks. On an LML cab and chassis truck with dual tanks, using the tuner will disable the rear tank, which is not advised, and the boost gauge will not work. Tire size and speed limiter cannot be changed.
